I would just back the game up with 120%. Then use the swap magic disc to boot it.

well one of hte easiest methods is to use DVD Decrypter.

Put your game in the dvd drive (rented games won't work - ask phuc about that)
    Start DVD Decrypter
    In DVD Decrypter select MODE>ISO>READ
Press the button to rip it

check swapmagicfix to see if you need to do anything special for the game

    when it finishes ripping
    In DVD Decrypter select Mode>ISO>WRITE
make sure a blank DVD is in the DVD burner
press the button to burn it

    when that's finished play it.

oh and DVD Decrypter is free.

yeah what joeNOOb said, just remeber to look on DVD Decrypter after you select ISO Read or ISO write for the folder icon so that you can pick a destination folder for the read, and browse for the MDS file on your system for the write protion before you press the decrypt button.
and rented games work, it's just illegal

you will also need some kind of mod for your PS2 like a slimtool, magic switch, ghost switch or flip top so that you can swap the discs without the PSTwo reseting.
