I just installed an LG DVD-ROM (read only) drive. I have a Samsung burner that was working just fine. Now when I go to burn an ISO image using Nero 6.6.0.19d it tells me it is a CD-R drive and to insert a CD? Here is the error log, and help is much appreciated: Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: File 'Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=4.71 (0001), size=45056 bytes, created 5/6/2002 10:01:22 AM ahead WinASPI: File 'C:\Program Files\Ahead\nero\Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=2.0.1.74, size=164112 bytes, created 10/26/2004 11:35:32 AM Nero Version: 6.6.0.19 Internal Version: 6, 6, 0, 19d (Nero Express) Recorder: <TSSTcorp CD/DVDW SH-S182M>Version: SB03 - HA 1 TA 0 - 6.6.0.19 Adapter driver: <atapi> HA 1 Drive buffer : 2048kB Bus Type : default (0) -> ATAPI, detected: ATAPI CD-ROM: <TSSTcorp CD/DVDW SH-S182M>Version: SB03 - HA 1 TA 0 - 6.6.0.19 Adapter driver: <atapi> HA 1 === Scsi-Device-Map === DiskPeripheral : ST340014A atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: On CdRomPeripheral : TSSTcorp CD/DVDW SH-S182M atapi Port 1 ID 0 DMA: On CdRomPeripheral : HL-DT-ST DVD-ROM GDR8164B atapi Port 1 ID 1 DMA: Off === CDRom-Device-Map === TSSTcorp CD/DVDW SH-S182M D: CDRom0 HL-DT-ST DVD-ROM GDR8164B E: CDRom1 ======================= AutoRun : 1 Excluded drive IDs: WriteBufferSize: 83886080 (0) Byte ShowDrvBufStat : 0 BUFE : 0 Physical memory : 1534MB (1570816kB) Free physical memory: 993MB (1017172kB) Memory in use : 35 % Uncached PFiles: 0x0 Use Inquiry : 1 Global Bus Type: default (0) Check supported media : Disabled (0) 9.5.2007 CD Image 1:18:36 PM #1 Text 0 File Burncd.cpp, Line 2948 TSSTcorp CD/DVDW SH-S182M Super Link activated 1:18:36 PM #2 Text 0 File Reader.cpp, Line 127 Reader running 1:18:36 PM #3 WINPFILE 2 File CPortableWinPFile.cpp, Line 268 The system cannot find the file specified. 1st thing edit out the serials # at the top of the log - they begin w/ 1A. From the log looking like you picked 'cd image' istead of dvd image so this would be why Nero asks for a cd. Switch the option to dvd. CdRomPeripheral : HL-DT-ST DVD-ROM GDR8164B atapi Port 1 ID 1 DMA: Off Turn DMA back on for this drive. Here's a guide.
I just tried to burn another ISO image and was successful. The odd thing is, I have already successfully burned the other ISO image just yesterday? Odd thing #2, I notice that randomly checking "My Computer" sometimes this drive is listed as a CD drive and other times it shows up as a DVD-RAM drive? I did turn DMA on on the other drive. Thanks!
You're welcome mandonut If a disc is inserted in the drive & the drive shows as a cd drive in my computer that's normal - just an windows XP thing Once the disc is out of the drive it will go back to showing as what it really is
It was a problem with the image. I'm still trying to figure out how a 4.7 GB ISO of Wario created yesterday with Rawdump became a 32kb sized file? Puzzling.
Yeah that's a little odd. Unless rawdump also creates a secondary file like ImgBurn does on iso (the mds file).
