I got this Nero software along with LiteOn LH-20A1P DVD Writer. I encountered an error while installing Nero 7 Essential. Here are the steps:- When I insert the Nero CD, it auto run’s and shows an screen which has one of the option as “Install Nero 7 Essentials” When I click on “Install Nero 7 Essentials” it invokes a Nero Multi-installer, which has one of the options as “Nero 7 Essentials” When I click on “Nero 7 Essentials”, it gives me an error saying “Installer Database cannot be opened.” Operating System : Windows XP Professional (With Service Pack 2) Processor : Intel Celeron, 1.7 GHz RAM : Total 256 MB (with 32 MB shared for Display/Monitor) Kindly help me to get rid of this problem.
Do you really only have 256 megs of RAM? Can you get more? I bet WinXP is having problems running on that...
I think, memory won't be an issue. I have installed many software's, which are much heavier than Nero. I used the CD to install on other machines, and it did install without any problems. There seem to be some problem with the OS / drivers, but not able to figure out what exactly it is
Minimum requirements mentioned in one of Nero's user manuals are: Processor: 800 MHz Intel® Pentium® III processor or AMD™ Sempron™ 2200+ processor or equivalent Main memory: 128 MB RAM Hard drive space: 600 MB Display settings: 8 MB video memory Minimum resolution 800x600 pixels 16-bit color settings, 24-bit or 32-bit true color recommended however Optical device: CD and/or DVD-RAM recorder Plus: 16-bit Windows® compatible sound card and speakers So my PC has higher configuration, compared to what was required. Has anybody faced such kind of problem ever before, i tried searching on google, but got only one link, that too linked to this forum, but answers were not given to it. So can anybody help this time
