Hi. I hope someone can help. I have been able to successfully burn security copies of my DVDs using DVD Shrink and Nero for about a year or so. But not anymore :-( I have the Cyberhome DX162D burner on a Dell Dimension 3000. Now, using either Nero 7 Premium or CD Burner XP Pro 3 Freeware - the DVD obviously burns but the DVD player doesn't recognize anything - and - when I use the DVD drive on the PC - I get a pop up that the disc is unrecognizable so can't even look at the contents on it. Generally I use Fujifilm DVD-R media. I have attached a discinfo summary - I am ready to throw the entire PC off of the balcony, so if you can help, you might be able to spare its pathetic life. Thanks, nebraskaboy

    Dear Attar,

Thank you for being willing to try and help. I have pasted in what I think is the log. I have found that neither the DVD Shrink/Nero 7 combination and the DVD Decrypter/DVD Clone 2 - result in a burned DVD that works in either the PC or my DVD player. Interestingly, when I finish the Nero burn and then put the disc back in the drive on the PC, I look at MY COMPUTER, and is says that drive is a CD drive; when I eject the disc, the drive shows again as a DVD drive?

But here is the log and thanks for anything you can do to offer my PC a stay of execution (meaning, a launch off the balcony...) Luke

To my eye it looks like a model burn.
The only thing I would suggest is buying a pack of 'Verbatim' or something that says 'Made in Japan'.
    Your disks are
and I have had problems of my own with Ritek, although not as consistently bad as you..

BTW can you burn a CD or a data DVD disk?

Thanks for looking over the log.

I am able to burn CDs and data DVDs so it wasn't the drive.

I was using Fujifilm DVDs and then tried Memorex and then Maxell.

It looks like using the Maxell media and CLONE DVD 2 (rather than Nero)is working fine - nine burns and counting!!!

Yippee. So thanks, I think I will just stick with CLONE DVD 2 for the time being.

Truly appreciate that this forum exists and that experienced people like you are willing to share your time and expertise.
