Nero - aspect ratio

    Have made a film and exported .avi file to Nero and burned a vcd. Have only played it in the pc/dv, but the quality was poor, and also in 4:3, when the original is 16:9. Have been reading that TMPEG is recommended. Do is make a better conversion? How? Will it solve picture and aspect ratio problems?
