Ok, I have searched the forums for this error but can't find it.

I am trying to backup (Hitman 2) my first PS2 game and following the steps from the PS2 & Xbox Tutorials:

    Using Nero
    1. Start Nero, Use the Wizard (for easy use)
    2. Select "DVD" then select Next
    3. Select "Copy a DVD" then select Next
    4. Select your source drive
    5. Check OFF "copy on the fly" then select next
    6. Select your write speed
    7. Select either "Test", "Test and Burn" or "Burn"
    8. Press "Burn" to begin

Itgoes all the way to step 8, then I get the following.
[bold]"There has been a prooible read error during operation, which may result in a defective write. Do you wish to continue to write anyway?"[/bold]

    What should I do?

I have Pioneer A05 and use Nero.
Step #4: Copy image to HARD DRIVE
Step #5: Don't copy on the fly
    Step #6: Write speed 1x
    Step #7: Select "Burn"
    Step #8: Burn Disk

I use only Verbatum & Ritek DVD-R and CD-R Media

That is the same exact way that is stated above in his own post.

    5. Check OFF (means deselect) "copy on the fly" then select next

ok, I just noticed a problem. For Step 5, "Fast-copy (on-the-fly)" is greyed out. what's with that? This should'nt be this tough, no??? :)

Do you have a DVD reader AND DVD writer? If you only have a DVD Writer then you cannot do copying on the fly.

I have both, DVD reader and a DVD Writer, both internal. Hitman 2 is really pissing me off.

Its going to be hard for you to copy this disk with nero. I would personally suggest copying it with Alcohol. Some games come with 'bad data sectors' on them to protect against pirates (Arr matey). Anyway, to beable to play the game you have to have that bad data sector on there. Nero is picky with it, and the last I knew it usually skipped the bad sectors and gave you a bad disks. Nero has the copy game option (or you can de-select skip errors, and select read sub-info). Hope this helps a little.

Nero also has the option of changing wheter it uses "error correction"
    just select "write uncorrected"
will find better detail for you
