I have a very frustrating thing happening. Until recently, I've been backing up my DVDs for a while with a Benq 1610....no problems.

A few weeks ago, I got a new more powerful computer. But I am using the same Nero, DVD Shrink and BenQ 1610 drive.

For some reason, every DVD I burn with Nero gives me a "Verify Failed" message, and some of the files are marked "inaccessible". When I play them on my DVD Player, there is corruption.

It gets better. I bought a new LiteOn DVD. Same thing. I tried my BenQ and LiteOn drives on a different PC. Same thing.

Besides going out of my mind, I am starting to think that the batch of Ridata 8X DVD+Rs that I have are all defective.

Is this possible? Anyone have any other suggestions for me?

    Thanks.

Could be your media Ritek/Ridata have been getting pretty bad press lately..

Try updating the firmware to your drive to se if it will read the media better.
