Nero Vision 4.0 - when trying to burn nothing happens and the progress bar goes instantly to 100%

Hi All

I'm trying to use Nero Vision 4.0 to convert a AVI file and burn it to a DVD. I've followed the step by step guide for burning using Nero Vision 4.0 however whenever I use Nero and it gets to the burning stage it just freezes. The final burning screen says the following: "Creating menus and transcoding streams" and then underneath it says "Burning project onto disc". However, if I look at the progress bars underneath the top one which says "Current Progress" instantly fills to to 100% full and it the time Elapsed says 0h 00m 01s and freezes, this never changes. The "Total progress" bar never fills up. I even left Nero over night and had no other applications open and yet nothing happens and no progress is made.

Help!!! How do I solve this?

I have also experienced this on a few occasions, I cannot explain why...only thing I could do was reboot comp and start over again...I know it's annoying but thats the only "fix" I could find.

 

Thanks. Unfortunately Nero does this every time I use it, regardless of how many times I reboot my computer. I'm really annoyed that I can't get my AVI onto a watchable DVD.

I did use ConvertXtoDVD but the DVD I burned won't play in my DVD player which is a multi-region home cinema system that plays all sorts of discs!

Very frustrating.

 

Which version of Nero are you using...have you tried another version..I now use 7.5.9.0
