    Hi,
I recently bought a new Lite-On DVD Burner [LITE-ON DVDRW LH-20A1P] and was previously using a LG DVD Burner.
The software I use is Nero Vision 4.
Using Nero Burning ROM, I'm able to burn DVD-R Data discs with no problems. However, when I try to burn DVD-Video discs using Nero Vision 4, after the conversion process, I get a "Power Calibration Error."I have turned off the CD writing capability already which fixed the "Power Calibration Error" I got from writing DVD-R data discs, but I can't fix it for the DVD-Video discs.

If you could help me that would be great =]

Below is the Burning Log that I saved.

    Thanks.

    Hi xCagallix
1st thing edit out the serial # - it begins w/ 1C and is here in the log - [02:34:25] NeroVision - Main menu (2 pages)1C

    Here's a few suggestions - Nero API version: 7.0.0.0
    NeroVision Using interface version: 6.6.0.12

Do a clean install of Nero and update to a later version.
Uninstall Nero running the clean tool.
You also have InCD installed - 'Drivers\InCDfs.SYS':. If your not using it I would uninstall it too - InCD Clean Tool.

Now update Nero - the just had an update today - 7.10.1.0.
I haven't tried it yet though.
You can try 7.8.5.0 or 7.9.6.0 - link

    <LITE-ON DVDRW LH-20A1P> Version: KL05
Update the firmware to the latest - KLOG.

    Drivers\CDRALW2K.SYS'
Roxio and Nero don't always play well together. Uninstall Roxio and run the zap tool

The discs you are using are made by Optidisc - so-so. So if after doing all the above switch the brand of discs to Verbatim or made in Japan Sony, Fuji or Maxell.

I tried what you said, but I still get the "Power Calibration Error" every single time. I've even re-formated the entire system and then tried re-installing NERO again.

    I don't understand why...

Is there any other program that I could use to burn DVD-R Video discs or anything else that I could try to make the NERO work?

Did you try using different media than the ones you're using now (see my post above)?

Have Vision save to a hard drive folder instead of burning.
Then use ImgBurn to burn. It's a good free burner.
Use the build mode to add the video_ts folder to burn.

Thank you so much for your help. It works now.
I used Nero Vision to convert the files, and then I used Nero Express to burn it.

    ^^
