Nero won't recognize burner

    Just installed nero express onto new laptop, but nero won't recognize the burner, it only comes up with image recorder. I've used nero on my old computer without a problem. Any ideas on what to do?

    Hi there,

    What version of Nero are you using ?

    The latest Nero is v6.6.0.5
    Nero Express, not sure but I think Nero Express comes with Nero Burning Rom.

    Anyway, all this to say: You might need to install a newer version of Nero Express. Your laptop drive maybe so new, that the older version of Nero doesn't recognize this drive as a CD-R or DVD-R drive...

    If you know what brand/model of drive you have, go here and see what is the minimum Nero version you need to recognize your drive.

    If you have an OEM version of Nero, it is likely that some of the DVD burning functions will be disabled.

    You can download a fully working trial version from Nero's website.
