I have had a network setup on my computer,I recently had a virus so had to format my pc. I now cannot get the network running. Everything seems to be ok, but when I load some of the license's for the software I use I get a message saying that it cannot find my host id and that the network card might not be working. If i run ip config it shows me my host id, and all the drivers are upto date for my network cards. I have even tried network cards from my other computer that is running ok and still get the same message. I think it might be software related, but don't have a clue. Any ideas would be helpful. I am running windows xp pro on two P4 1.7s. The other computer runs the software fine even if the network is unplugged.
