I purchased a 5 pack of DVD+RW (see attachment). Today I opened one new disc to do a burn with IMG BURN. After selecting the ISO file and inserting the new disc, IMG BURN said “this disc needs to be re formatted”, and the process then said erasing disc and it took a long while. I tried another of the new discs and the same thing happened.
So, why would a brand new disc, which hasn`t been used before, need erasing and formatting?
I`m quite experienced with burning discs and this is the first time it happened with any disc on my computer.
Do you have an explanation why this happened? http://img826.imageshack.us/img826/3325/yv6d.jpg

DVD+RW requires a full erase (or format) before first time burning - DVD-RW doesn't.

Why do they need formatting and not dvd-rw?
