New Computer

    can someone please explain to me what DIMM is and what 4dimms would be and what 2dimms would be for RAM

    im pretty sure those are the numbers of slots for ram

    I just looked it up actually and it said it is like if you had 512 mb of RAM, 2 DIMMS would be two RAM pieces of 256 MB each and 1 DIMMS would be 1 RAM piece of 512 mb.

    hey i have a quick question in this spesific ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820144157

    it says Kingston ValueRAM 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 533 (PC2 4200) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail

    since its dual channel does the overall memory 4gb??

    i read about dual channel and thats the way it seems is that right?

    no, it means there are two sticks of one gig ram that can run in dual channel together
