hello friends! i don't know what's going on with "the forgotten"
i am unable to rip/burn this movie.
is it possible that a new protection has been added to new movies?
    using dvd shrink & decrypter
neither any of those couldn't rip the movie
    any clues?

You'd find lots of clues if you knew how to search.

    Hi flanker2--
Yes, there is a new encryption on the market--I was having trouble with several of my newer DVD's, but from reading a few threads here, I realized that I needed at least one more program--I found that if you run Slysoft in the backround, then normal methods work--(Shrink and Decryptor--both free)--The slysoft has a 30 day free trial which is what I am using, but then will purchase probably--I am sure this info should help you--have fun--

    Hi Guys,

The Dvd protection software makes the dvd movie invisible to the pc.If the PC can't see the dvd movie it can't copy the movie.

I too had trouble with that movie, but got it to work with Shrink and Decryptor only after I had AnyDVD running in the background--Don't know what else to tell you except standard stuff--ie. scratch on disk?etc.

joetech--If the PC can't see the movie, how can it play it?--Or is it only if you are trying to copy it?

The new Sony ARccOS protection creates unreadable Sectors on retail DVD.Use Anydvd and Decrypter to circumvent the ARccOS protection

i used DVD Decrypter 3.5.2.0 and then dvd shrink to compress it. it worked fine for me. i had the same problem when i was using dvd shrink but decrypter fixed the problem and i was able to burn it.

    Hi All,
As mentioned the dvd movie can be played on a dvd player and not a dvd burner on the pc. I have tried all software mentioned but it still could not see the dvd in the burner.

    Anymore ideas????

@ joetech pleeze read rule number [bold]8[/bold]

    Flanker2,
Make sure you are using the newest version of Decrypter or AnyDVD they both just came out with new versions to combat these problems with the new Sony ARccOS protection. I did this movie perfectly fine with Decrypter and Shrink so it does work just make sure you update.

I was having the same problem, so I took it back and bought another copy. I then let dvd decrypter run for like an hour on that same part where it was getting stuck. Think it's VOB_3_1.vob, anyways when I let it retry like 30 times it got it.

    Hi bbmayo,

Many thanks for your comments but I did try to use DVD Decrypter 3.5 with dvd shrink 3.2. It doesn't work at all.

I know they will find a fix as the dvd protection software by Sony is new.

Do I just download Anydvd, install it and let it run and use DVD Decrypt. and DVD Shrink in the same manner as I normally would and Anydvd works without doing anything or any prompts??

i just use dycrypter then dvd shrink after and it works..those are the only programs ive got. forgotten is the only dvd ive had to use dycrypter before shrink, every other time i use shrink.
