thanks dude i finally have sound, one more qestion ..my other pc that has the same problem no audio , i had someone build it for me a few years ago how would i find out what make & model it is so i can download a driver for it ...thanks
on the motherboard itself not on the chips is printed the name & model like asus p4s533 or ecs k7vma.
i can see asus on the motherboard but there isnt any numbers around it , & cant seem to see one any where on the mother board do they put the model number in a different area...thank
On the initial boot screen, push 'Pause' key to prevent screen changing. Look for the likes of 'ASUS P5P800' (which is my motherboard). Press 'Enter' key to continue to boot. Then check for drivers. http://www.nodevice.com/driver/company/ASUS/Motherboard.html
Thanks ..asus a7v-133 i went to the site spent half an hour & cant find what i should get so i can get the sound working
i went to the site & i think the audio driver is 140a but i dont know how to install or where it goes it dosent have an install wizard ...thanks
you download that file into a folder & unzip it into that folder, then in device manager goto that device that is not working, do update driver & direct it to that folder. that is an old file as via has newer updates for your motherboard as in audio, chipset & agp. via link. http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx?PageID=2&OSID=1 motherboard manual link. http://dlsvr03.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/socka/kt133a/a7v133/e688_a7v133.pdf
