Did u check to make sure that ur SATA has the jumpers in the correct position, ie making it the master drive and not the slave? _
It would be best to try updated drivers from the website. See if that helps. If it doesn't, it may be a hardware issue. Massimck: erm, excuse me? SATA drives don't even have jumpers, and even if they did, a drive jumper issue could never cause driver hassle. Don't comment if you've nothing useful to add, people can get confused.
I have two sata hard drives, both on Master. no idea about jumpers, the four sata ports are labelled master (x2) and slave (x2).
That's merely their logical position. The Master/Slave affair simply denotes which part of the S-ATA controller they're attached to. There are no jumpers on the drive to determine which mode the drive runs in.
no, for sata drives, there are no jumpers, no nothing, just hook the sata cable up, and the power cable, thats all you need.
Yep, there is no master/slave I believe. That's only how some drives illustrate them. They are literally just "1", "2", "3" and "4". Master/Slave isn't used at all with standard S-ATA.
excellent so hard drives are fine, someone putting the sh*ters on me there!! I downloaded the latest drivers for my card (only 100mb!!!) and it hasnt blue screen or restarted! Thanks to all for helping me, much appreciated! Dave
hi there, i occianally get a blue screen with the following error: IQRL_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL_TO any ideas?? Dave
nero 7 nero 8 office 2007 photoshop elements 6 sometimes it just restarts, no reason shame cos for the budget ive built a decent comp
All I can say is try downloading the newest graphics drivers from the website. Graphics drivers can cause all sorts of issues. If that doesn't solve the issue, try using only one of your two RAM sticks and see if you can resolve the problem. If that solves the problem, you have a problem with your RAM (again? lol, it happens, I've been there) but if it doesn't, then you may want to look at the graphics card itself. If you have another graphics card (or onboard graphics) you can try, do that. If still nothing, post back. If that solves the issue, RMA the graphics card.
ok no problem will look into the options you listed = thank you. I left the comp on overnight and got another blue screen. PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED AREA is this similar and linked to the drivers? Regards Dave
just d/l and installed SpeedFan software, and its telling me the CPU temp is 62 degrees c and the core temp is 66 degrees c , both with flame logo's on the side? do I have a cooling issue?? I dont have any sides to my case, removed them years ago
You're not going to like this, but PAGE FAULT IN NON PAGED AREA is, without question, faulty RAM. Time to send it back! However, your temperatures are also very high. If you leave the sides off your case there needs to be some airflow to help cool the PC. Despite having a much larger vent, stagnant air stil isn't a good way of cooling a CPU...
lol 2 faulty rams in a row my luck whats the chances its the motherboard ram slots? hope not, just eliminating the options. Could the other blue screen fault and restarts be beacuse of the ram to? if it just effecting the computer left right and centre? Thanks for your help on this sam, youve been a real help!
As it happens, yes, that happens more often than you might think. Try not using the RAM slots you're currently using. If you don't have enough spare ones, then temporarily remove a stick. See how things progress in the other slots. If you don't get any errors, it could well be a faulty RAM slot, in which case put one of the sticks back in the old slots to work out which one it is.
