That's correct. However 1500rpm is perfectly acceptable for a CPU fan. If the temperature of the CPU is fine, then there's nothing wrong with the fan speed.

Are those other fans plugged into motherboard headers? If they are not then you wont see fan speed. Also what graphics card did you get?

Well the only fans on the computer are one on the roof of the casing and two on the sides. They're very small and I can say I think they'd make a hell of a difference as far as cooling goes. The only connecters they have are for the PSU. I got a GeForce 8800GTS. It's all they had and I was crazy about paying for it but when I got it installed I put Crysis on and cranked everything up to high and got great performance. So i'm happy enough with that. I've been monitoring the CPU temp and i've never seen it rise above 42 degrees celsius, so I take it that's ok?

How much did you get it for? Also I guess 42 degrees OK, it could be better though.

£239.99 for the card, and how could I keep the CPU cooler apart from getting another heatsink, which isn't out of the question but I don't really have any intention of overclocking. Not yet anyway

Holy shit dude you paid 480 dollars for that!!! Dude my frigging 170 dollar card is better! Try to return it to the store. Also if you're not overclocking then just keep the cooler you have.

Nearly twice as expensive in fact. In literal terms, £240 = $470. However, a product sold for $470 in the US will cost around £330 here due to import and sales taxes.
