New to PC upgrading....few questions

    intel won't work on amd board totally different like apples & oranges. also that p4 doesn't have legs like before or amd so need new 775 socket board which might not have agp slots but pci/e. so you better decide what you want to do because you might end up in circles

    yes should be alright. but remember that the socket 478 is going bye bye as being replaced by the 775

    the 775 is the socket size right? and were u saying it wouldnt it the processor chip?

    you can't use a 478 cpu in a 775 board, apples & oranges. your the 1 spending the money so you have to decide which way to go. my supplier has the same asus board for P4P800 E Deluxe Intel 865PE FSB-800 4DDR AGP8X SATA w/Audio/Gigabyte Lan/Raid/Firwire $143. were in canada are you

    ya but isnt that motherboard 478, and the processor chip says it is compatible with 478?

    both cpu & motherboard on your 11:29am post can go together, i thought you were referring to earlier post for motherboard. i get my stuff at gogo computers in markham, that post for price of board was from there. i'm just south of barrie

    yse go with that, i was just showing you difference in price that could save a bit of money maybe. check your local computer store to see what they sell that board for

    there doesn't seem to be a "cart" or anything... is this because they are under construction or what?

    ya its wierd...i do, then it shows the products (CPU's for Ex.) and there specs, but i cant click on them or buy them ect. ???

    i mean, if i were to buy something, where would i go? or would i have to email them stating the item(s) that i want?

    you can email or phone them but i don't think they ship to you. if i need a system, i usually call a couple of days ahead of time so they can get the parts together, assemble & test the computer before i go down & pick it up. the also show me everything working with a demo version of xp before packing system. they also want cash or certified cheque no plastic money

    ok I see. so if i were to buy a motherboard, video card and CPU from them they would install it into my system free of charge? or ontop of the total price?
