When I bought my PSP, it was already in v1.5 with DevHook v2.71. Recently I had few games (ISO) that requires v3.1 or higher to play. Can I know how and where can I go to upgrade my Devhook 2.71 to 3.1 and higher? Appreciate if there are steps by steps method to do so. Many thanks in advance!

Devhook is pretty much outdated with the new Custom Firmware out. It is allot easier to play games. There is no loading of Devhook. All you do is put the ISO/CSO PSP game in the ISO folder and play it via Game Menu. It is that simple.

I would suggest installing 3.53 M33-4 which i give directions below to install it...

    3.52 M33 HERE

    3.52 M33-4 HERE

    3.52 firmware HERE

    1.50 firmware HERE

Download the 3.52 M33 CFW linked above. Extract the file.

Download both the 1.50 and 3.52 firmware. You need to re-name the 3.52 firmware to 352.PBP the 1.50 firmware to 150.PBP. Then add them to the M33CREATOR folder.

Now copy the M33CREATOR folder and the kxploitpatcher and kxploitpatcher% folders to the PSP MS directory of ms0:/PSP/GAME folder.

Now go to Game Menu Memory Stick and run the KXploit Permanent Patcher. It should run and say patched successfully and reboot back to the XMB.

Now go to game Menu Memory Stick and run the M33CREATOR.

After you run the M33CREATOR it should reboot back to the XMB. It should have created a 3.52 M33 update which you need to select in the Game Menu Memory Stick.

It will flash the files to the PSP and you should be at 3.52 M33 firmware. If it is then format your MS.

Now extract the 3.52 M33-4 update.

Drag the PSP folder that is in the update M33-4 into the root of the MS overwriting the files when it asks you to. Now go to Game Menu Memory Stick and run the m33-4 update. This will only take a few seconds.

After the update is finished check and make sure it says 3.52 M33-4 for firmware. If it does say 3.52 m33-4 then format the MS 1 more time.

You are now updated to 3.52 M33-4.

As firmware upgrades it doesnt forget things, you will always be able to play a 1.50 game on a 999999 firmware

    Yes you will.

The requirement firmware on the games requires that you use a firmware at or above what ever firmware that is required. There is and more then likely never will be a requirement on a PSP game that requires you to use a firmware at or lower then a particular firmware.

Hi, I have the same problem. I have a PSP that I downgraded to v1.5. My question is that I recently was given a new UMD to play and I cant as it needs a higher version, will this upgrade work with the UMD disc's as well as ISO files?
    Many Thanks for your help.

custom firmware will let you play the most recent games, provided you update to the latest one. umd, iso/cso, homebrew; all can be done on custom firmware.

either get the 3.52 file from sony or from qj, up to you, and try renaming to 352 instead of 352.PBP. it might work, i don't know, but try it.

I've been stuck at this step for at least 10 mins:

"Now go to game Menu Memory Stick and run the M33CREATOR."

Been "writting 3.52 firmware..." for too long something must be wrong

    any advice??

Keep in mind i have many other devhook versions on my memstick, could that affect anything??

I left it on over night, when i woke up the battery was dead but when placing the charger in and turning it back on the writing was finished! so it must of taken at least 30 mins to write, now i gotta wait for my battery to be back up to 75% to continue with the update... hopefully it works!
