I am new to this HDTV market. I am looking for three reasonably priced televisions, for the family room, basement, and bedroom. I have looked at the Vizio from Costco and I believe I should be able to get 3 decent sized, very nice tvs for under $5000. I will have a modest home theater system in either the family room or basement. I am not sure what the difference is between all three types of tvs. I do not necessarily have to have a tv that can be mounted, but am willing to use a stand, etc. My other concern is image burn-in. Any advice, suggestions, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,

    NJ

Personally I would go with Lcd. I think plasma is the only one prone to burn-in. A friend of mine got a Vizio from Sams club and I was surprised
that for the price the quality was pretty good. As for the differences between the types of displays read this.
The HDTV basics on the left will give you a description of each technology.
