New Wii Motherboard Released - To Prevent Modchip Installation

    anyone know when this new motherboard came out?

    is it in the PAL wii's on sale right now in the UK?

    is there a way to find out which type of motherboard a wii has before buying one?

    I have seen a few recent post on the new motherboard. 1 was on a Japan Wii and 1 was on a PAL Wii.

    The only difference is they have removed a solder point which Wiikey used for it's Modchip install. Hardly an update to stop Modchip installs. Matter of fact most Modchips are not even effect by it (Wiinja Deluxe/WiiD/CycloWiz V3.0) they don't use that soldering point.

    You can still install a Wiikey but you will need to use a wire connection between point 3 on the Wiikey to an IC leg on the chip. Look at the link below for an image of the change...
