I just bought a Wii (NTSC-US) from Best Buy a few days ago and ordered a WiiKey yesterday.

I read at a few places that Nintendo changed the motherboard on the newer Wii's making it more difficult to mod them. However, I read at another site that this only applies to certain PAL models. I'm not really sure what the most accurate information is.

Is there anything I should be concerned about or need to know anything before I install the WiiKey?

I was going to solder the chip using this method.

With my model Wii, can I install it this way or do I need solder them at the alternate points?
