I understand the tutorial for backing up my games, now i just need to make sure I'm getting the right gear....

I'm ordering one of these DVD drives: 8162B, 8163B, 8164B. Is one better than the other?

I have the GC2-D2C w/ no pins cut according to WiiTracker. What ModChip should i get? I would like the easiest and most compatible so i'm thinking about Argon but i see a lot of posts about D2C key and D2pro. What should i get?

Any other tips i should know? i've been reading for hours but its hard to follow some of the threads that are 60+ pages when only one post per page is relevant to my chipest/modchip.

    Thanks!

As long as the drive is compatible then it'll work.

For D2C boards pick either the Argon or D2Pro. Flip a coin.

If you do not have any prior soldering experience then DO NOT do this. You may end up with a dead drive. Send it to a professional instead.
