I have this software as part of a bundle with Lite-On DRW-1673S burning I just purchased. 1st time, burn appeared to go ok, but when disk is "read" correctly as "DVD" by my home DVD player all I get is the Blue Screen. Cannot play it. Any idea what I'm doing wrong here? TIA!
Hi. Post your Nero History log back to this thread. Be sure to omit your name and serial number from the log. The log can be found in one of these locations: Nero 6: Program Files > Ahead > Nero > NeroHistory Nero 7: Program Files > Nero > Nero7 > Core > NeroHistory Some suggestions of things to always keep in mind: - don't burn at maximum speed. Limit your speed to half or less the rated speed of the media for good quality burns. - use good quality media like Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, and Made in Japan labeled Sony and Fuji. - keep your burner firmware up to date. - don't multitask while burning. shutdown unnecessary programs.
Here we go. I have Maxell DVD-RW, but looking in the file attached, I see the name RITEK! Haven't seen a good word on this forum re: RITEK! That may be the root of the problem - anyways, please see log and comment - thanks! Update your firmware here: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2026 Also, do not use rewritable dvds to put make dvd format video. Go buy some Taiyo Yudens or Verbatims.
Thanks very much! Any preferred part # on the Verbatims? I do a Goodle search and see a whole bunch of different model numbers! Or can you recommend a retailer in the Northeast USA that would carry 'em?
You can use RW media if you want. It's just that it isn't designed for long-term archival use. Best Buy, Circuit City, Walmart, etc., everyone carries Verbatim. There is one type of -R Verbatim media that's a little wonky. All the other +R -R seems OK. You have Nero InCD installed which is often a troublemaker. Use the Nero InCD Clean Tool to get rid of it: http://www.nero.com/nero6/eng/InCD_Clean_Tool.html For the future you might want to consider updating your Nero to version 6.6.0.18, the most stable version of Nero 6. Do you have a full version of Nero or an OEM version that came with your burner?
Thanks! I ran the InCD cleaner (acted a little whacky after the "Are you sure you want to remove InCD, etc.)but I guess it worked. This is the bundled OEM that came with my Lite-On burner. I'll check Nero website for the version you mentioned - again, many thanks!
