Hi, thanks in advance for any help...

i got a version 5 ps2 modded with a no solder. I got the SM 2 disks. I installed the mod chip like the manuals said, restarted booted an original game and works fine. Then i tried the Swap magic and it loads, ut tells me to insert disk... theres where my problem is...

ive read ur threads to copy games... i've used alcohol 120, dvd decrypter ISO, NERO 6.0.0.19 ultra edition and copied without errors but when i insert the disk after SM
i get the red/purple lines on the sides and it doesnt load, it freezes....

with the one i burn on nero it dont show me any colors just freezes....

im desperate.... have spent 100 dollars on mod chips disks and shipping plus blank dvds and nothing....
    btw i have a sony drx-120L dvd+rw 2.4x ...
ive tried to burn on 1x 2x 2.4x and same results...using tdk dvd+r's

ps.. once i load sm i inserted vice city original, game me the blue screen and played... so im guessing the mod works... my burning is my problem... thanks a million m8s

i don't think burning the games is the problem, kinda hard to screw that up. You are probably loading the games wrong or your chip is not working properly.

    how should i load them....???
you insert the sm wait for it to ask u for the disk then swap it? right and press X

and if the mod chip was screwed up then would any original game work... coz it does, thanks

    im an idiot
    my problems are solved:

Swap Magic Instructions (For Booting PS2 DVDr's):
Boot up the Swap Magic 2 "DVD" disk.
-Wait for the PS2 to boot up until "Insert Disc" message appears on the screen.
-Now hold the "Eject" button until the power indicator turns from green to orange.
-The CD tray will open, Change the Swap Magic 2 disk with your PS2 DVD game disk.
-The CD tray will close within 3-5 seconds.
-After the CD tray closes press "X" on your controller, your PS2 backup will now load.

    didnt know that :D

    the holding thing :D

    THANKS Y'ALL

i just got mine to work 2 minutes ago :D

you can copy games with any of this:

Alcohol 120%, Nero 6, DVD Decrypter, Primo DVD

read the instructions on how to burn dvd copies on this boards help is simple...

then u need to have a modchip on your ps2
    you have 3 choices:

a modchip u need to sold- magic 3.1
a NO Solder plug and play chip + Swap magic disks to load the games
a fliptop cover/swap card plus Swap magic disks

1st one u sold it and install it and u never have to worry about boot disks.... but is dificcult and u could damage the ps2

2nd is easy plug and play. u gotta open the ps2 but the istallation is easy... no soldering.... but you will need the SM disks to boot up either dvd or cd backups, you do need to know what version ps2 do u have
    by the serial number

3rd instead of the no solder u get a flip top cover that u can tap and open the disk tray to swap the disks... need sm boot disks v2
shortens the life of ur ps2

check www.modchip.ca on the help section to see what ps2 version do u have

i have an extra v4 no solder if u want ill sell it to you real cheap... if ur ps2 is v4
    indeed...

Now a question for you jmujica, what makes you think that a fliptop shortens the life of your ps2? Its the only option that does not change your ps2 electronics in any way.

i guy i know happen to start having troubles... i've use it too with no problems though.... but i wanted the no solder because opening the disk when its spinning causes major visual problems if u happen so see the laser, right? its on all burners and on the ps2 on the manual.

ps. i know im talking out of my ass, i mean thats what i understand. i might, of coarse, be wrong :D

if you use swap magic, the disc stops spinning, the laser turns off also when you need to open the top and swap the disc.
