newbie that wants so learn bout dvd ripping

i just wanted to know how to ripp dvds and what programs a the best to use,i am new to this and wanna know before i throw down $150 on a new burner,can anyone help

there's little you can do with such video. it will not be as good as the original.

 

ok,if i rip dvd's will the qulity be as good as the dvd its self

 

and if so can you suggest any programs to get me started
