I am gonna be recieving a Sony DRU500a dvd burner. I would like to know what are the steps to make a copy of my dvd's. I was making copies of my dvd's to vcd. I am using,
    SmartRipper
    DVD2AVI
    TMPGEnc
    NTI Cd-maker

Can I use these programs to make back ups?

I'm trying to get info, before I start burning coasters...LOL!!!

If not these programs, what should I use?

    Really appreciate any info.

    hi yvette.

a good place for guides is www.doom9.net
    or this website's guides (www.afterdawn.com).

I also created a guide myself, its on how to rip a dual layered dvd to a blank dvd-r/-rw/+r/+rw disc, but it removes the menus (chapters are kept in tact)
    its at
    http://www.geocities.com/daseamonkey420

    ps
i'll be posting a new XBOX modding/game backing up guide soon too..

    message me with any problems/questions

Thx!! I will check out the sites. And in the near future I will be ready for XBOX modding/game backing up, and will check out your site. Just not ready for that, not yet...

Why not have it a 1:1 backup?
with all the original Menus and Extras?

Can anyone get into the link above?
    I can't...
