I have a Dig. Sony Hi8 Camcorder and have been coping files to my computer to burn to a dvd so I can send to friends and family....but I can not get it to work. It seems like it will burn and play in windows media player but thats it. It can not be recognized as a dvd. It will not player on any dvd player. I have a new DVD Player that is suppost to read it. So here is what I have.
    -Record Now
    -Video Explosion Deluxe 1.5
    -DVD Decrypter
    -DVD Shrink
    Blank DVD's
    -DVD-R
    -DVD+R
    -DVD+RW
I never see where it says to burn a DVD, just music or Data...

Do I have all I need to make a proper DVD?
Could someone please tell me what I am doing wrong or what I am missing.

I don't know about record now, but I know for a fact that NERO can do what you need.

What format are your videos in? .AVI .MPEG?

If you use Nero Vision Express it will convert the files to a compliant DVD Format or you can use a little program called WinAVI Converter

If I use Sonic Record Now Ver. 7 then it open's in a AVI. I have nero, but need a serial # and it cost $70.00. So I have to wait and save money if I must use that.....What should the file type be?

OK, when I use the WinAVI V. Converter it tells me I have a error " detects your system missing compatible MPEG/DVD codec, we recommend you install it or WINAVI maybe can not convert." and it ask me if I want to burn a DVD, VCD, SVCD. If I pick DVD, no files come up...but they do come up under SVCD...

You can also download it and burn it on a .20c disc. :)

Major problem with OEM version of Nero is that it has DVD burning functions disabled including Recode and Showtime.
