    Hi,

I'm new at this and I think this site is terrific.

I have a starchip installed which requires memory_manager+ to play ps2 games. I recently backed up hotshot3 image using RecordNowMax. The image was successfully recorded back to a dvd-r.

However, my PS2 will not recoginze it. My ps2 driver verison is 1.1.

Can anyone advise how to backup the game? Do I need any patches?

    Any thoughts is appreciated...

Jee, what the h*ll is that Starchip.
I know StarWars but never heard of this chip.
Mayby if you boot a copy with it, it takes off...:)

I guess it will not allow you to play DVD copies..?!

    Hi Dela/Wizkid,

At the time, I had a choice between the Neo or Starchip. This is their web site.
    http://www.hy-way.com/modchip/modchip.htm

The memory manager is similar to Gameshark.

I was now thinking of backing up the game on cd's. But i'm not sure how to split the game into two. The original game is only 1.3 gig.

Or is it better to remove the starchip and get the Messiah chip. Can this be done? My understanding is that the messiah chip works for new models. I'm not sure if it will work on my machine, since I have driver 1.1.

    Thanks again,

    Thanks again,

Look I had for example Neo2.2 first. But then I bought a DVD-burner and couldn't boot the DVD backups. I took my PS2 to the store and let them put the Messiah in.
It plays like an angel !!!
Mayby you should get the Magic 3.5, it's the newest chip and fits in all PS2 versions.
The time I got the Messiah there was no Magic chip around.
If you want Messiah I need to know the version of your PS2. You have to give me the SCPHxxxxx number...

    Hi Wizkid,

SCPH30001 is the number. Will the Magic chip work?
