this is indeed distressing....anyone know who all was affected?
    teammodders looks like it's gone....
norcalmods looks like it is gone too.....

Why is the Department of Homeland Security working with a Japanese game company to raid video game businesses? Dont they have better things to do?

C'mon, you know those chips can be reprogrammed to be used as guidance systems for camel borne cruise missiles.

    i really good answer, $$$$$$$$$$$$$$
not sure what businesses this has effected really as there is no official word that i have found. Not sure if those two site heard about this and shut down for safety, or were forced to shut down.

I found out through reliable sources that a lot of sites have shut down by themselves and were not shut down. There is no telling how long it will be before they return, that is if they return.

Team Modders went down sometime yesterday, NorCal I'm not sure when. I can't imagine they'll be back up anytime soon, it certainly sounds like Homeland Security did an extensive investigation.

Now, I wonder if they'll start going after the little guy!

Ok now things have gone way to far I can understand going after the big fish, but the little guy who probably looks at modding as more of a hobby? They treated that poor guy in the article like a drug dealer. Get caught with drugs they take all capital and material goods that might have been acquired through illegal means. Now get caught with a modchip and they take all hardware and media as "evidence" oh.. But you can keep your monitor. This pisses me off and I don't even have a modded console. Whoever is directly responsible for these new "laws" deservers a swift kick to the nuts.

You can't really blame them, can you? Modchip business is big, and we all know the real ulterior motive of the customers when they get their modchips... :p
