Hi, I am newbie. I d/load avi file over Internet and I was able to successfully convert Avi file to mpeg by using TmpGnenc;however, there is no audio. I tried using VirtualDub to econde audio sepreately. I get a error message from VirtualDub saying, Vir/Dub detected improper VBR audio encoding in source avi file and rewrite audio header w/standard CBR during processs. This may intro up to 19122ms of skew from video stream.Furthermore, I can't seem to open with virtual/Dub. I just don't know what to do becasue original avi file had no audio problems. Thank you.

try using avi2vcd encoder. it come with audio decompression, it will convert the audio file into pcm. then convert avi to mpeg using tmpgenc and make sure to change the bitrate to 44.1 not 48. download this software @ www.dvdrhelp.com/tools.
