Hi there, I recently installed a freecom dvd+/-RW, when using Pinnacle or nero I keep getting a message saying 'NO DISC WRITER COULD BE FOUND'. Ive done everything it says to do in the manual but still no luck.
    Any suggestions please.
I have no problems watching dvd's etc on the new drive!

    Perhaps the writer isn't supported...

What happens when you try to select it with 'choose recorder' in Nero ?

Hi again, Im using Pinnacle 7.0 and(nero 5.5)
When I choose recorder the only option that is displayed is 'image recorder'
Also, when I goto 'my computer' the original drives I had were dvd=drive E and dvdrw=drive F
but now for some reason there is and extra drive showing up as 'INSTANT CD-DVD' which has mixed all my drives up. This drive only appeared since installing Pinnacle :-(

The extra drive an an image recorder (dummy drive) if you like.

Is the drive a new model ?
If so i would try updating to nero 6 before trying anything else..It may just be that it's not supported in the app..Give me the model number and i'll look it up

Ok..According to their site the freecom dvd is only supported in versions after 5.10.10.42
which is the last one before nero 6..you probably need to upgrade...Try http://www.nero.com/us/631940730632700.html

there is a tester there which should confirm

Check your ASPI drivers are installed as programs use ASPI to communicate with Optical drives.

    Get ASPI drivers here: http://download.com.com/3000-2098-10219041.html

If this does not solve the problem, it is then related to the software and should be taken up with that company by means of patchs/updates.

    Good Luck :D
