no sound capture with firewire

    Hi, I'm having problems getting any audio when capturing. I'm using a Panasonic PV-DV701 camcorder and capturing to firewire. I have WinXP and have successfully captured many times before on my computer with the same camera, but since my last reformat I haven't been able to get it to work again. The video works great, but no audio gets through. I've tried Premiere 6.5, Pro, and Windows Movie Maker, and at 12 bit and 16 bit; with no luck.

    Oops, I forgot (not sure if this will help or not):
    AMD Athlon XP 1800
    1.54 GHz
    512MB RAM
    ATI Radeon 7200 64MB
    Windows XP Home

    Can you try a USB cord instead?

    Yeah that might work. I don't have a USB cable that will fit in the camera though :(
