Hi, I can't get any video in either PowerDVD or Media Player Classic, but I can in WMP10 and BSPlayer. What's going on. Obviously there's an MPEG-2 decoder installed somewhere, but it's not being used by some apps. Any ideas, thanks.

In preferences make sure the file format in question is not selected in WMP10 or BSplayer and that it is selected in MPC, then MPC will play it.

After a lot of fiddling around with different settings and such, I found the cause of my frustration to be the newly-installed ATI CATALYST Control Center software.

Under Video-Video Presets, the settings were Custom (default) after installation = no video; I set it to Home or Theater, and the DVD video was displayed.

Hmm, I wonder if that happened to everyone else using the latest CATALYST software, v4.10...
