    Hi All.
6288 is on the list of phones that can NOT be unlocked.
So I called my t-mobile, and they said they don't unlock phones. The only way they said is to contact Nokia.
Will unlocking tool for that model ever become avilable? Or should I just smash it agains the wall? It sucks... Why do huge companies like Nokia even do that, i mean the phone was paid for in europe, etc.
Thanks and sory for my outburst.

Nokia did not put a sim lock on the phone T-Mobile did! Who ever you spoke to obviously does not know much about there own product. Nokia ship out all phones unlocked, it is then when the networks receive them they load the phones with there software and lock them so no other provider can be used, for obvious reasons.

Call T-Mobile again and get someone that knows what they are doing and tell them you are going away and need the phone unlocked.

Only T-Mobile can unlock your phone.

    Good luck!

Hey Pazzini, thanks. You don't remember me but last year you helped me with unlocking another nokia which i also got as a gift from a friend from poland.
This current one - identical scenario - friend of mine owns a business in poland where they get like 100 phones for their company. So the phone is locked to SP Era Gsm. So when i put my sim in the new 6288 it wont work, and needs a code. I'm a t-mobile customer, and they suck, at least their service...Guy wouldn't even give me 1 min to explain whats up. Just basically "no - we dont do it, we dont have the tools, contact the phone manufacturer"
Wharever, i just really like this phone thats all.
And again thanks for the previous hook up.

Sorry for the mis-understanding I thought the phone was locked to T-Mobile, lol. You need to call the network that the phone is locked too, they will give you the code. :)
