Thanks dude. Got phone restriction off after entering the above code and have put in aussie sim but it's come up "Phone Restricted", I press UNDO and it's now asking me to "Enter Restriction Code" ? any offers ?
Sorry dude, I sent my replya little too soon - please see my editied reply as I still appear to have a phone locked to a particular sim. I re-entered the code and pressed ok and got "Phone was not restricted". I still have the Phone Restricted message sat on my screen. What else do I need to do ?
Pazzini, The Aussie Sim is from "go-talk" which uses the Optus Network (who in turn use t-mobile in the UK - who virgin use) However I've found out that this particular SIM won't work until I get to Oz (it had to be registered and have a mobile number assigned via their website). I stuck my UK Vodafone sim in and got exactly the same message. I'd really like to ensure that this particular phone is unlocked as I don't want to keep switching sim cards in my other unlocked phone (T-Mobile MDA Vario / aka HTC Wizard) or risk taking my works mobile phone which is not locked to any network with me to Oz (just in case I end up loosing it !). Your help is greatly appreciated...
Sorry for the delay m8 It seems that there might be a software problem. Take the phone to the nearest market / shop for a pro to have a look at it. This will cost around £5-10 The phone is deffinetely unlocked. Good luck ;-)

Thanks, will give it a go but it's prob too late to take it to a shop before I go so I'll probably just take the work mob & swap sims when I get there.
