noticed lots of modchip site closing down

    uuuhh yeah, i'd say sony is still pissed over that whole "modding" thing. alot of places are going down lately. good thing i already got my stuff lol

    I don't gamegizmo was doing so well. Don't think sony has anything to do with it. Don't know about any others.

    also www.isonews.com is now property of the U.S. government! and they say on the site that madchips are illegal! the owner of isonews could be looking at five years! WOW

    Are modchips illegal or what? What's going on? I thought playing backups you don't own the original for was the illegal part but modchips too?

    the feds only seized the domain name isonews.com - if you know the IP you can still get there, along with the 20 or so mirrors that they got.

    Read up on the DMCA (Digital Millenium Copyright Act). Things are changing.

    So what does this mean for people who have already bought modchips? Does this mean they are now in violation of the law?
