My cable box has component outputs and my tv has component inputs and was wondering if I were to connect the two would I get picture? My tv is not hd.

Also, I have "digital cable" and the picture quality is rather lackluster using a coaxial cable and even running on composites any tips for improving this?

Are you sure its component? Red, blue and green jacks? I believe the answer to your question is yes. What type of tv do you have? You say its not HD yet it has component jacks. As for you "digital cable" I have the same problem. I have a HD LCD tv and a HD cable box with hooked up via component and cable looks bad. My HD channels look great on the other hand.
