    Howdy

On the sleeve that comes with my DVD-R's (TDK, 8X from Best Buy) it says "USING THIS MEDIA IN OTHER SPEED DRIVES/RECORDERS MAY RESULT IN FAILURE..."

My question is, is it OK to Burn these 8X DVD's and 2X speed?

    Thanks.

Don't see why burning at lower speed might pose a problem.

As long as your drive's firmware thinks it's a good idea you should be fine :)

that warning is not for burn speed, it means that using 8x media in a drive not rated upto 8x could harm it. When 4x media came out, there was a problem using 4x media in 2x burners.
