I saw a discussion or two and a number of sites that talk about Opera (the Web browser) on the DS. It would come on a cart you bought apparently as a self contained thing.

Couldn't decipher from all the pages I read as to whether it actually had a US release. I can't find it if it did.

Anybody know the fate or current status of Opera on DS?

I know a US release was planned, dunno if it has been yet or if it's a direct from Nintendo only item or anything.

There is a JPN version and a EUR version though, so you can get either of those.

opera is a web browser like internet explorer who teamed up with nintendo (i think) to create a version for the ninteno DS and Nintendo wii. if you want to get the PC or mac version of Opera you can downoad it free from http://www.opera.com/

Download a few different ones on a PC and try them out. I use Opera on a PC (using it to post this) and it is my favorite. I also have Seamonkey, Firefox, and of course IE.

I'm not an expert but I think Opera is nice and fast, it seems to work well, it doesn't seem to use a lot of resources, it seems more secure, it is a lot more customizable. I just like it.

It has a thing called mouse gestures (you can set up a click and left drag of the mouse to mean "go back" for example) that will practically let you surf with just little flings of your mouse.

I think that would translate nicely on the touch screen of a DS.

Yeah, I'd also like to know if you can get flash on the Opera browser - also since opera is what i use on my Wii.

    Is this worth the price?
