Recently i got virtual dub and have been splitting a bunch of movies. I put video and audio on direct stream copy all the time but recently i have been having movies that either have no sound or the sound is out of sync of where the movie is. Each time the pattern is; part 1: sound out of sync, part 2: no sound at all. What do I do?

if you mean that your sound and video are off then go into virtual Dub then open a movie then click on audio the interleaving. in that menu it should help you out.:)

on the bottem of the interleving window it says.

use positive values if the audio is playing to early, and negative values if the audio is playing to late.

it pretty much a matter of playing with it liek if yhe audio is liek 2 seconds of its gonna be around 500 to 1000 ms off or if its like minutes off its gonna be an incredibly high number
