Connection forcefully closed on: 195.20.32.86 - RIAA

I'm sick of this shit and I dont even share any music and half the time I have no p2p open anyway so what gives them the right to attempt any connection to my computer??

So this is the reason why I decided to start this thread, for the p2p users here, how many times have you wondered can you keep your privacy on p2p??

Well below is just some of the things you can think about!

    [bold]IP Blocking:[/bold]

This is getting very popular!! Basically you use a program that will load a list of IP ranges and block any attempted connection from them! IMHO the best program to use is PeerGuardian! You can download PeerGuardian from http://www.methlabs.org

You can update the list of blocked ip ranges also from the following link - http://methlab.tech.nu/

[bold]IPFilter.dat[/bold] - This is for eMule only. It is also a list of ip addresses that eMule will filter out in your searches/downloads/uploads. You can get a list from http://www.atheistdictionary.com/ipfilter/ and thanx to Differenciam from the sharereactor forum for that link :). Copy all the ip ranges and click settings in eMule, click security and under ipfilter click edit, paste in all the ip ranges and click file - save. Then click reload.

    [bold]Earth Station 5:[/bold]

[bold]UPDATE: THIS PROGRAM CANNOT BE TRUSTED!![/bold]

    [bold]XS:[/bold]

The same creator of PeerGuardian has made a p2p app that is not yet anonymous but he is working on it, to read about it, visit http://www.methlabs.org___X_X_X_X_X_[small]http://www.BillLonero.com - Check out a true artists music!

I've added the IP filter to eMule, do i need to download and use PeerGuardian as well?

Does Peer Guardian or IP Blockers slow down your connection?

Is there a program that blocks all IP addresses from entering or accessing your computer?

That's the problem Dela! As much as I hate to admit it.... Peer Guardian that effective anymore. As stated in the news, they're using it from somewhere else! So really the only way you could protect yourself is to use an IP blocker! I know it sounds far-fetched but I think that's the only way!

P.S. Is there such thing as an I.P. cloaker/washer/hider etc.?

Dela's still right... there has to be a way for someone to know your IP addres -- that's how a website knows where you chuck its packets.

    You mean proxies?

Well a proxy isnt an ip blocker because a lot of them are not anonymous!! You cant get a program to mask your ip at all but you can use anonymous proxies (good luck on finding one that has no propblem on most p2p networks)

The p2p app, earth station 5 uses proxies a lot!

one question... if i have a personal firewall (zone alarm for instance) do i still need peer guardian? i am behind a router. i'm a little bit paranoid... i installed peer guardian. it loaded all the ip range all right. i've let it running for a day alongside emule.... so far peer guardian hasn't blocked any ip yet.... is that normal? how frequent does the scanning from RIAA occurs?
