    Hello,

I've this Philips DVP3150V/37 combo and a PAL VHS tape which I've been trying to play on it. I'm using composite output and connected to my TV. I can hear the video in a funny distorted way but I can't see the video.

My TV doesn't support PAL-M/N on the composite input but it does support on S-Video and component inputs. My understanding is for PAL you have to have composite connection. Am I right? If it's true, do I need to use a PAL to NTSC converter so I can play this tape I've? Do I've any other option to be able to play the tape?

    Many thanks!

If the tape is unprotected, make a DVD then convert the DVD to NTSC on the PC.
Anything else will end in tears.
