I have 250 gb 7200rpm hard drive (western digital) AMD 32 2700 2.8 gh. My question is; is it absolutly critical that i partition my hard drive for digital video editing?

It's certainly not a matter of life or death :(
    It's entirely up to you!

its not a neccessity but if you wish to try getting a program like partition magic which will patition it in either FAT32 of NTFS under a windows platform.

Well it will take for ever to defrag that 250GB hard drive. If your drives gose bad(May that never happen)
It will be a pain in the ass to recover info on your Hard drive.(C: drive goes at least you should be able to save the stuff on the D: drive E:, etc.
