PC SOUND RECORDER MICROPHONE TO MP3

    HI

    I am after a sound recording software where i can record sounds direct to MP3

    a good recommended one would be great

    what i want to do is record from a microphone to mp3

    and also i want to link a hifi to pc to record a tape to pc in mp3

    Please can you recommend and provide any links

    You can use the free program, 'Audacity', and record from microphone or tape deck (through the appropriate jacks on the PC sound card, 'mic' or 'line in') and export as MP3.
