I tried to turn my computer on and the light turned on but nothing happened I had to unplug it to get the light to turn off. If I plug it in the light will be on without me pressing the power button but the computer still wont start. there doesnt appear to be any sounds coming from inside, like the fans or anything else. Any ideas?

Any help would really be appreciated.

Sounds like your PSU is toast, just like ddp said. Another option is that you have added some new components to your PC that require more power than what your PSU can supply, thus, it wont even start.
