I recently ordered a computer from Dell with a DVD+RW/CD-R/RW combo drive. I have two questions that maybe someone can help me with.
    1) I used the latest version of Nero 5.5.9 to burn a dvd movie. It burned but it did not play on my dvd player. I know u need use some kind of decoder or something. Please help.

    2) I didn't realize until afterwards but I ordered a box of 30 DVD-R for my DVD+RW. I am not sure if DVD-R will work on my DVD+RW drive. Nero does not let me burn on a regular DVD-R disc. Can I use these discs on this drive?

Dvd-r will not work with your drive. DVD+r may not also. If is the first revision of the drive then it will not. The unit that ships with the Dells' is a Phillips unit.

You would also have to provide more info for someone to help you about the movie not working.

Are you using a documented method to burn the dvd movie?
