PHILLIPS DVD-RW DVD 8601 PROBLEM

    I have a phillips dvd-rw 8601 combo drive, but i have trouble burning cd-r's . When i try to burn on nero, it says

    invalid write state
    could not perform end track

    wot is problem? the cd-rs work on my normal cd-rw drive

    Im no expert but this is what I read....your trying to fit a "size=164112 bytes ISO" on a 750mb cd?

    nope, all i want to do is put 1 video file approx 400mb on a 700mb cd-r

    the problem is, is it expands to around 2gb when you try to convert it

    Not sure where you guys are looking but Nero understands it as 166828 blocks which is a tad over 400Mb's. The problem I'm picking up is this:

    Sense Key: 0x03 (KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR)
    Sense Code: 0x73
    Sense Qual: 0x02

    So youve either got an incompatible media code to your writer or a bad batch of discs. Solution try different brands. Also try burning DAO mode.

    Did you solve the problem. I have a simular problem. Installed some new programs - and suddenly no burningtools are working. I suspect some kind og aspi problems but I am not sure.
