pioneer 108 problems

using nero 6 i've burnt dvd data disc successfully at 8x, converted and burnt an mpg to make a dvd disc, burnt some cd's but some have stopped halfway through. nero reports a communication error.
backed up a ps2 game using alcohol 120% but that stopped halfway through. any ideas or solutions?

 

maybe the dvd was only 4x so u should burn it at 2x if it's 2nd or 3rd class dvd though...

i think i'm sorted now.
took my old drive out and it seems to be fine.
burnt a cd no problem and backed up a ps2 game at 4x with nero.

 

burn ps2 games... use alcohol 120% ... don't use nero to burn games... nero good for dvd movie and data file...
