Hey, I'm both new at these forums and new at backing up ps2 games.

I want to backup all my ps2 games so they don't get destroyed. I have a V7 ps2 and am using "Action Replay 2 V2" as my swap disc. I have removed the front of the disc tray. The DVD's I use are TDK DVD+R 1-16x 4.7GB.

I am able to make a backup copy of my games using DVDDecrypter. But it only seems to play whenever I put in the original disc into the ps2 first. These are the steps I take.

    1) Insert AR2V2
    2) Press "Start Game"
    3) Insert original GTA:SA game (for example)
    4) Press "Without Codes"
    6) Press "X" (then wait about 3 seconds)
    5) Open the disc tray using a small flat head screwdriver by pushing the cog under the tray clockwise.
    7) Replace original GTA:SA game with back up copy
    8) Push the tray back in and push the cog anti-clockwise with the screwdriver

    The game then loads fine.

My problem is I don't want to have to insert the original disc every time (because it defeats the purpose), but this is the only way I can get it to work, it also does the same thing with GTA:VC. So, is there another way to get this to work without buying any hardware/software and am I doing anything wrong?

    Thanks
    Taylor

You need the Swap Discs to elimanate the problem of having to put the original disc in first, AR2 was never designed to bypass the ps2 checking for the original disc.
